Balachandran Volunteer

I went as a volunteer for the AWIM program to the St. Xavier’s Francis Matriculation School in Alwarpet. It was a very good experience for the students, teachers and me. AWIM program was very useful for the students to understand the basics like Force, Inertia, Velocity, etc through a very interesting example.

Students found out the answers themselves which hardly happens in the classroom. The basic design procedure was explained in a simple way. This is good chance for the students to work as a team and present the results in front of the crowd. Students were allowed to express their creativity.

Teachers also gave a very good feed back since the academically weak students of the class were responding positively to the program.

More focus should be given to the schools which are financially poor.

I would like to express my thanks to the organizers of this program for accepting me as a part of it.
